Sister Huong Nguyen Perpetual Profession of Vows and Sister Juliet Onuoha First Profession of Vows
Saturday, October 16, 2021, was indeed a grace-filled Day for two of our Precious Blood Sisters and their families, for our whole Religious Family and for the Universal Church! Even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, our loving God allowed that during this month of October, 2021, the virus had subsided sufficiently, that we were able to have the Profession Mass of our Sister Huong Nguyen and Sister Juliet Onuoha at Holy Family Parish, London ON, presided over by our local Bishop, Most Rev. Ronald Fabbro, CSB. It was a blessed occasion in so many ways! First, there was the grace of their Professions for each of our two Sisters, as you will witness in the accompanying photos. We are so grateful to Father Bob Remark, Pastor, and to all those from the Parish who graciously welcomed us and did so very much to make this Profession Mass a most blessed and memorable Event!
Even though most of our two Sisters’ relatives could not be physically present, they were with us in heart and spirit. However, a special gift was the presence of Sr. Juliet’s priest-brother, Father Emmanuel Ukaegbu-Onuoha and several of Sr. Huong’s cousins from the Toronto area.
In order to follow the necessary protocol due to Covid-19, the number of attendants at the Profession Ceremony had to be kept to a low number. Holy Family Parish graciously arranged for the Mass to be live-streamed, and they also produced a lasting video to share with others. What a joy and grace this has been for many friends and relatives who could not be present! Hopefully you too have been able to view it.
Although there could not be an indoor reception, we were able to have friends over to the Monastery garden for an outdoor reception to celebrate this blessed Event in the life of our Sisters and in the life of the Church. Our only regret was that we were not able to contact more friends to be present for this reception.
As always, our mission in the Church as a contemplative, monastic Community, continues on, and our ministry of prayer reaches out to all corners of our world. Be assured that you and your loved ones remain in our united prayers daily.
