Sister Kim Lien Nguyen Entrance to Novitiate

On April 29th, 2016, the Church celebrated the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena, the first Patroness of our Precious Blood Community. The day held special graces and joys for us, and in particular for Teresa Kim Lien Nguyen who, in a very beautiful and meaningful ceremony in the early evening, became “Sister Kim.” During the Rite of Initiation into Religious Life Sister Kim expressed her desire to follow Jesus completely. These were the words she spoke in the presence of our Superior and Community:

“Drawn by God’s merciful grace, I have come here to experience your way of life. I ask you to teach me to follow Christ crucified, and to live in chastity, poverty and obedience. Teach me to persevere in prayer and penance, in service of the Church, and of all people. Help me to fulfill the Gospel teaching every day of my life, and to live the true spirit of your community. Let me learn your Constitutions and the observance of Christ’s law of love.”

The ceremony continued with Scripture Readings and sacred songs specially chosen for this occasion. We thank our God for Sister Kim, and ask Him to bless her as she follows in the spirit of our Foundress, Mother Catherine Aurelia. Please thank God with us, and know that Sister Kim will continue to pray for you and your loved ones, with each coming day.
