Sister Vi Nguyen Perpetual Profession of Vows and Sister Phuong Nguyen First Profession of Vows
Saturday, July 11th, 2020, was a very blessed Day for our Precious Blood Congregation and indeed in the life of the Church. On this 187th Anniversary of the Birth of our Foundress, Venerable Mother Catherine Aurelia, two of her spiritual daughters, Sr. Anna Vi (Vicky) Nguyen and Sr. Uyen Phuong Nguyen, made their Profession of Vows as Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood in the chapel of our London Monastery. This occasion had been a long time coming, as Sr. Anna Vi’s Perpetual Profession ceremony had first been planned to take place in one of our local Churches on April 25th, 2020. But with the arrival of Covid-19 and the needed lockdown, the Profession Mass needed to be rescheduled. Happily, as we approached July 11th, we were able to plan for a double-Profession Ceremony in the chapel of our London Monastery! Sr. Uyen Phuong was now ready for her First Profession of Vows, and Sr. Anna Vi for her Final Profession. Our Auxiliary Bishop, Joseph Dabrowski, presided at the simple but very beautiful Profession Mass, accompanied by Rev. John Comiskey. Even though due to Covid restrictions, we were not able to have guests – family and friends – with us in our small chapel, we were able to capture the highlights of this celebration on camera and on a DVD so that they could take part in this way.
In the afternoon, as the Covid restrictions had recently lessened for outdoor gatherings, we were able to have our chaplains and spiritual directors come for a delightful “come and go” reception. All were very appreciative. We hope you will enjoy these photos from the Profession Mass, and that you will thank our loving God with us for the gift of our two Sisters, Sr. Anna Vi and Sr. Phuong, making their Profession on July 11th, 2020. Be assured that they and all of us, your Precious Blood Sisters, daily carry you in our prayers.
