Venerability of Catherine Aurelia Caouette
Sunday, January 22, was the day chosen for the celebration to recognize our Venerable Catherine Aurelia of the Precious Blood. And it was indeed a Marvelous celebration! Bishop Francois Lapierre, Bishop of St. – Hyacinthe, presided, and was accompanied by ten priests and deacons.
Immediately following the Penitential Rite of the Mass, the Official Decree declaring Mother Catherine Aurelia Venerable was read aloud by one of the Diocesan Officials. This declaration was immediately responded to by the singing of the “Glory to God!”
The Cathedral Choir, with the flute and organ accompaniment, sang well-chosen hymns, including one newly composed for this special occasion, entitled, “Que Flamboie ton Soleil” (“As the Flame of the Sun”), based on a letter written in 1982 by Mother Catherine to Father L.A. Brousseau, of Oregon. This letter was adapted by Sister Suzzane Teasdale, APS, and then set to music by J. Morrissette.
During Communion, the choir sang “God’s Gift,” the special hymn composed for the 2008 Eucharistic Congress in Quebec. The entire Congregation then sang the “Glory to Thee” with this very accomplished choir. The Choir Director, Mario Jacques, was outstanding. He made the whole chapel ring with joy. The Church of the Diocese of St. Hyacinthe was rejoicing together with all the Daughters of Mother Catherine Aurelia! It was a joy-filled and emotional moment.

I am a Catholic living in Michigan. I found a very old prayer card with the miraculous metal from the Sisters of the Precious Blood, St Joseph St, Toronto 5 On.
I prayed and asked God what to do with it and I heard a voice say to give it to the next sister who becomes a nun in this order. Who can I send this to so that this gift may be given to her ? The prayers are beautiful and I pray them but I know this has another purpose and belongs back in its home.
In Christ
